Newly hatched baby veiled chameleon just waking up on my hand gives a little yawn and tongue flick. Males wind up dull green with blue dark colored and gold markings.

There is a also a variation known as the translucent veiled chameleon pictured above. Male veiled chameleons are normally bright gold green or bluewith bands of yellow orange or black. Males tend to have more intense and vivid coloration in comparison to the fairer sex. Even hatchlings from the same clutch can be different colors.
